Our formula contains carefully selected moisturizing ingredients that work together to hydrate the skin deeply while maintaining comfort and balance.

Glycerin
Glycerin is one of the most well-known sources of hydration. However, in high concentrations it can create a sticky feeling on the skin. For this reason we combine several hydrating ingredients, allowing us to carefully balance the amount of glycerin while maintaining optimal hydration without the unwanted sticky effect.

Pentylene Glycol
Pentylene Glycol is produced through enzymatic fermentation of sugarcane sugars, meaning no petroleum is involved in its production. It is an effective moisturizing ingredient and also acts as a smart booster for preservation, helping formulas remain stable with a lower concentration of preservatives.

Urea
Urea is a very small molecule that occurs naturally in high concentrations in the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF), the skin’s own hydration reservoir. Because of its small size it can penetrate deeply into the upper skin layers where it attracts and retains moisture very effectively.

Urea works synergistically with lactic acid derivatives (lactates). Together they strengthen skin hydration, soften the skin and support the natural repair processes of the skin barrier.

Lactic Acid and Sodium Lactate
These ingredients are essential components of the Natural Moisturizing Factor. They also function as natural pH buffers and contribute to the microbial stability of the formula while supporting skin hydration in an efficient and gentle way.

Sodium PCA
Sodium PCA naturally occurs in the Natural Moisturizing Factor, the water-rich environment between skin cells. It is a powerful skin-identical moisturizing ingredient that helps the skin retain moisture and remain supple, comfortable and resilient.

Xylitol
Xylitol is a non-fermentable sugar that cannot serve as a food source for bacteria. It has a subtle cooling effect on the skin and, thanks to its many hydroxyl groups, has a strong water-binding capacity. This helps the skin retain moisture and remain comfortably hydrated.

Isosorbide
Isosorbide is a plant-derived molecule produced from sorbitol, usually obtained from corn or other sugar-rich crops. In cosmetics it functions as an innovative humectant that helps attract and retain moisture.

Saccharide Isomerate (Pentavitin)
Saccharide Isomerate is a sugar-based compound that binds strongly to keratin in the upper skin layers. Because of this it remains present in the skin for a long time, helping to soften dry areas and reduce the feeling of tightness. Derived from edible corn, it is considered a high-performance moisturizing ingredient in modern natural skincare.

Together these ingredients reinforce each other’s effects, providing deep and immediate hydration while supporting the skin’s natural balance over time.

Botanical Extracts with Antioxidant Protection

Our formula includes powerful botanical extracts known for their antioxidant activity and skin-supporting properties.

Rosa Damascena Flower Water
Rose water is obtained during the steam distillation of Damask roses. It contains aromatic components of the flower and is known for its soothing, refreshing and hydrating properties. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Centella Asiatica Extract
Centella Asiatica is widely used in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it is known as Gotu Kola. In skincare it is valued for its calming, healing and barrier-restoring properties, making it particularly suitable for sensitive or irritated skin.

Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract
This botanical extract contains magnolol and honokiol, two powerful bioactive compounds with strong antioxidant and calming properties. It helps reduce redness, supports the skin barrier and helps soothe irritated skin.

Bisabolol
Bisabolol is a natural compound originally discovered in chamomile flowers. It helps calm sensitive skin and improves the tolerance of other beneficial skincare ingredients, reducing the risk of irritation.

Berberis Aristata Root Extract
Known in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, this extract has a broad range of beneficial properties. It acts as a natural preservative, a gentle light-yellow colorant and a versatile antioxidant even in low concentrations.

Scutellaria Alpina Extract (Skullcap)
This botanical extract is rich in flavonoids and polyphenols with antioxidant properties. It also naturally contributes to the characteristic light yellow color of OWRA products.

Plant Oils for Nourishing and Conditioning the Skin

Our formula includes carefully selected plant oils that nourish and protect the skin, especially mature or sensitive skin on the face and neck.

Oryza Sativa Bran Oil (Rice Bran Oil)
Rice bran oil is rich in antioxidants such as ferulic acid, vitamin E and oryzanol. It nourishes and protects the skin against oxidative stress while providing a light, non-greasy texture.

Oryza Sativa Starch
This natural starch fraction helps absorb excess oil and provides a soft mattifying effect without leaving the skin feeling dry or powdery.

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil with Calendula Extract
Sunflower oil infused with calendula petals creates a gentle nourishing oil that helps calm and repair the skin.

Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil
Macadamia oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, including palmitoleic acid, a fatty acid naturally found in human skin. It softens and nourishes the skin while supporting the skin barrier without leaving a heavy feeling.

Silybum Marianum Seed Oil (Milk Thistle Oil)
Milk thistle oil contains antioxidants such as silymarin and vitamin E. It is known for its calming and protective properties, making it particularly suitable for sensitive or stressed skin.

Tocopherol and Carnosic Acid
This combination brings together two powerful natural antioxidants. Tocopherols protect oils from oxidation, while carnosic acid from rosemary and sage provides strong antioxidant protection. Together they stabilize the formula and support the skin’s natural defense systems.

Supporting Ingredients That Enhance Formula Quality

Potassium Cetyl Phosphate
This is the primary emulsifier used in OWRA formulations. It is derived from palmitic acid and phosphate, two building blocks that naturally occur in the body. It forms very stable emulsions while being extremely skin-friendly.

Because it is effective at very low concentrations, it rarely causes irritation and creates a smooth, comfortable texture in the final product.

Cetearyl Alcohol
Cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol derived from plant oils. In cosmetics it helps stabilize formulas and create a creamy texture. It acts as an emollient and co-emulsifier, improving the skin feel of the product without irritating the skin. Despite its name, it is not the same as drying alcohol and is fully compatible with natural cosmetic formulations.
